Tyler Mauldin leads Energy Market and Policy Strategy on Google’s Infrastructure & Energy team. Operating at the intersection of power systems and digital infrastructure, Tyler focuses on responsibly scaling the computational demands of AI and cloud computing affordably, reliably, and sustainably.

Tyler’s background spans the full spectrum of the energy value chain:

• Energy Policy & Market Design: Engages regularly with state and federal utility regulators, elected officials, regional grid operators, and key trade associations — including NARUC, NASEO, and EEI — to advocate for forward-looking regulatory and clean energy frameworks.
• Large-Scale Procurement: Negotiated city-scale power agreements and capital energy investments for new hyperscale data centers at Microsoft — including Microsoft’s first Fairwater site — while co-leading global power-quality and infrastructure initiatives.
• Grid Operations & Reliability: Began his career at NextEra Energy subsidiary Florida Power & Light Company, gaining hands-on utility experience in grid operations, storm response, and crisis management during extreme weather events.

A proud Georgia Tech alumnus, Tyler holds both an MBA and an M.S. in Economics from Tech, as well as a B.S. in Meteorology from the University of Georgia. This blend of business, atmospheric science, and technical utility operations allows him to bridge the gap between commercial realities and long-term policy innovation. In addition to serving as a Board of Directors for the Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council, Tyler is also on the Advisory Board of Georgia Tech’s Energy Policy & Innovation Center (EPIcenter).
