KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 10, 2023 – The Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council released the first episode of its second season of Energizing Tennessee, powered by FirstBank. The podcast explores the latest news and insights about Tennessee’s advanced energy sector.
The first episode of the new season featured a conversation between Host Cortney Piper and Julian Spector, senior reporter at Canary Media, an independent, nonprofit newsroom covering the transition to clean energy and solutions to the climate crisis. The pair spoke about Spector’s recent coverage of the Tennessee Valley Authority’s decarbonization efforts and the Southeast’s journey toward becoming a major electric vehicle and battery supply chain hub. The episode provides a bird’s eye view of the clean energy transition in Tennessee and beyond.
Piper spoke with representatives from 17 companies In the podcast’s inaugural season, including TVA, Ford, Piedmont Lithium, Hitachi Zosen Inova, DENSO, Techstars, Kairos Power and Pilot Company. From advanced nuclear to cleantech startups, the podcast kept finding new ways to answer a big question: Why are so many companies investing in Tennessee? For its second season, the podcast will continue to answer this question and explore how people and organizations are helping “energize” the state’s advanced energy sector.
